A pupil's year on one page

How to read everything that happened to a pupil in their year from their page, without moving between lists.

What it is for

A pupil's page gathers the attendance, excuse, exit-permit, gate-scan, letter and message lists, narrowed to them, so you understand their situation and act from one place.

Step by step

  1. Open the pupil from “Pupils”, or press their name in any excuse, exit-permit, gate-scan or message list.
  2. Start at “Attendance”: the last 30 days by state and the attendance rate of each week, and from there the full report.
  3. Move to “Excuses” and “Exit permits” to see what was recorded for them, and record an excuse or a permit with the add button, the pupil already chosen.
  4. Check “Gate scans” to know when they came in, “Warning letters” if their absences reached the warning point, and “Messages” to know what reached their guardians.
  5. From “Guardians” edit their links or add a guardian; from “Cards” open their class's cards to print.

How it works

Each section is the list of its own page narrowed to the pupil, so its numbers are the list's numbers, and your permissions and scope apply: a section does not show to a reader who may not open its page, and a pupil outside your scope has no page. A pupil's name and mobile are never in an address.

The pages in this flow

  1. A pupil's page
  2. Excuses
  3. Exit permits
  4. Warning letters
  5. Attendance reports

Questions

I do not see the “Warning letters” section.
The letters are optional and switched on in the attendance settings, and the section shows to a reader who may view them.
What is the difference between a section and the page's list?
A section is the same list for this pupil alone; editing, approval and export stay on the list's page.
