The family portal

Your children today at a glance: each one's state in words, their last seven days, what is waiting for you, and one button to send an excuse.

What it is for

You open the portal on your phone and see your children: a card for each with their state today in plain words, their last days, and what waits for a decision or a permit. Under them are the latest notices, and at the foot of the screen the “Send an excuse” button. The portal takes the group's colour and logo, and can be installed on your home screen as an app.

Step by step

  1. Sign in with your mobile and your password.
  2. On each child's card is a strip with today's state: “Here since 7:12”, “Late by 14 minutes”, “Absent: send an excuse”, “Excused”, “No school today”, or “Not marked yet”.
  3. Under it are the last seven days, one mark for each, from the oldest to today, and under those what waits for you: an excuse request not yet decided, or an exit permit for today.
  4. Press your child's name to open their page. “Latest notices” are the three newest things the school sent you, and “All notices” opens the whole list.
  5. To send an excuse press “Send an excuse” at the foot of the screen: choose the child (when more than one of your children can have one), the day or days, the reason and, if you like, a note, then “Send the request”.
  6. To install the app press “Install the app” when it shows, or on an iPhone press the Share button and then “Add to Home Screen”.

How it works

The portal reads with the guardian's own account: their own children only, and revoking a child's link hides them at once. Attendance is shown as a state, numbers and dates only: no staff name, no note and no absence reason. The arrival time is the time your child's attendance was recorded, in the group's time zone. The “Send an excuse” button shows when you can send an excuse for at least one child (actively enrolled and your account recorded to receive the school's messages about them). The navigation bar at the bottom (“My children”, “Notices”, “My account”) shows only if you have more than one child or notices have reached you; with one child and no notices the home is your child. The installed portal keeps no page and no data on your phone: it needs the network to open.

On the page

  • Your child's card: their name, school and class. Press the name to open their page.
  • Their state today in plain words: arrived, late, or absent and you can send an excuse.
  • Their last seven days, oldest to today: each day has a mark in the colour of its state.
  • What waits for you: an excuse request the school has not decided yet, or an exit permit for your child today.
  • The three newest notices from the school; “All notices” opens the whole list.
  • Install the portal on your phone's home screen to open it as an app.
  • The one button at the foot of the screen: send an excuse for an absence.
  • To move between your children, your notices and your account.

Questions

One of my children is missing?
Ask the school to link them to you from the pupil's page.
I do not see “Send an excuse”?
It shows only when your child is actively enrolled, your account is recorded to receive the school's messages about them, and excuse requests are on. Open your child's page to see why, and contact the school.
Why does it say “Not marked yet”?
Today is a school day and the school has not marked your child's attendance yet; the state changes when it does.
