Import attendance
Bring pupils' attendance in day by day from a file: the pupil code, the date, the status and the minutes late.
Open the page in SchoolOSWhat it is for
Old or outside attendance records are imported here in one go: they are checked first and then saved.
Who uses it
The page opens for whoever holds “View the daily register”, to look only, or “Record attendance: the register, the gate and exit permits”, “Import attendance records”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Team member, Principal, Stage supervisor, Teacher, Counselor. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.
Step by step
- Download the file's template and fill each line with the pupil code printed on the card (not the ID number), the date, the status (present, late, absent, excused or custom) and, for a late arrival, the minutes late.
- Upload the file and press “Check”: the lines that will be saved show, and each one that will be refused with its reason.
- If you are happy with the result press “Save”.
How it works
Nothing with an error is saved, and each line says why: no such pupil, a day still to come, a pupil with no enrolment covering the day or not placed in a class, no shift for their school, or a closed day, which only the key for changing closed days may change. The file itself is not kept, and no notice is sent about an imported day. A pupil marked “Custom” in the file takes the reason “Other” from your group’s list of custom reasons, as the file has no reason column. The import is logged with the number of records, without the pupils' names. If your role is over one school, only your school's rows are imported; the rest are refused as “Outside what you may enter”, nothing of the file is saved until it is corrected.
