What it is for

The list of guardians, each guardian's page opening from here.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View guardians”, to look only, or “Manage pupils: the register, guardians, placement and promotion”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Team member, Principal. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.

Step by step

  1. Search by name or mobile: the word never appears in the address.
  2. Press a name to open their page.

How it works

A guardian is one person however many children they have. Deleting one revokes every link of theirs and closes their portal; their record is kept. A principal has no delete button, because one guardian may answer for pupils at more than one school; only whoever holds the permission over the group as a whole deletes one.

On the page

  • Search by name or mobile; the word never appears in the page's address.
  • “Import guardians” adds those who were not in the pupils' file, for whoever holds the pupils' key over the whole group or at their school. “Open the portal for a class or a school” opens it for that class's or school's guardians and sends each the activation link.
  • The guardians, how many children each has, and whether their portal is open.

Questions

How do I add a guardian?
From the pupil's page with the “Add a guardian” button, or with “Import guardians” for whoever holds the pupils' key over the whole group or at their school.
How do I delete a record in “Deleted” permanently?
From the “Deleted” tab: “Delete permanently” on the record, or “Delete all permanently” above the tab after typing the count, which takes every deleted record of the kind in all of {{customer.the}}, whatever the page's filter shows. It takes the “Permanent delete” permission, the owner's, and a fresh code from the authenticator app each time. A record other records still point to stays, and what holds it is named. A person's record has its personal data erased that night, and a row with no name stays in the records. The backups keep a copy for a few weeks, then it is gone.
