Year terms

A working year's terms: their dates, the current one, and how many there are.

Open the page in SchoolOS

What it is for

Every term lies inside its year. The year sets how many terms it has; here you set their dates and names and choose the current one.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View year terms”, to look only, or “Manage the school: its schools, stages, grades, classes, subjects and calendar”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Team member, Principal. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.

Step by step

  1. Pick the year in the list at the top of the page if it is not the one shown.
  2. To change a term: the pencil on its row. To add one: “+ Add term”.
  3. Tick “Make it the current term” to make it the current one of its year.

How it works

A term always lies inside its year, and the number of terms is a limit the year sets: an add and a restore are refused when no place is left. One term is current in each year; a deleted term is never current and frees its place. The «Full year» term belongs to the year, follows its dates and is not listed here.

On the page

  • How many live terms of the number the year allows.
  • The terms and their dates, and the current one.

Questions

Why was a term refused?
The year's live terms have reached the number it allows; delete a term, or raise the number on the «Working year» page.
How do I delete a record in “Deleted” permanently?
From the “Deleted” tab: “Delete permanently” on the record, or “Delete all permanently” above the tab after typing the count, which takes every deleted record of the kind in all of {{customer.the}}, whatever the page's filter shows. It takes the “Permanent delete” permission, the owner's, and a fresh code from the authenticator app each time. A record other records still point to stays, and what holds it is named. A person's record has its personal data erased that night, and a row with no name stays in the records. The backups keep a copy for a few weeks, then it is gone.
