Stages

The group's stages, and which school teaches which.

Open the page in SchoolOS

What it is for

A stage gathers grades (primary with its six, say) and every school shares it. The «Schools and stages» grid says which school teaches which stage.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View stages”, to look only, or “Manage the school: its schools, stages, grades, classes, subjects and calendar”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Team member, Principal. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.

Step by step

  1. Add the usual stages with their buttons above the list: each comes with its grades, once.
  2. Or “+ Add stage” for one of your own (the code is optional and the system makes one if left empty), and add its grades on the «Grades» page.
  3. In the schools and stages grid, tick what each school teaches, then save.

How it works

A stage is the group's, so only whoever holds the «Manage the school» key over the whole group changes it. The grid is per school: a principal saves their own school's column only, their save never clears another school's boxes, and a box posted for a school they do not hold refuses the whole save. Deleting deactivates: its grades and its links to schools stay until it is restored.

On the page

  • The usual stages, with their grades, once each.
  • The stages and how many grades each has.
  • Which school teaches which stage. The head office teaches none, so it is not in it.

Questions

What if I add a usual stage twice?
Nothing repeats: a code already there is left as it is.
How do I delete a record in “Deleted” permanently?
From the “Deleted” tab: “Delete permanently” on the record, or “Delete all permanently” above the tab after typing the count, which takes every deleted record of the kind in all of {{customer.the}}, whatever the page's filter shows. It takes the “Permanent delete” permission, the owner's, and a fresh code from the authenticator app each time. A record other records still point to stays, and what holds it is named. A person's record has its personal data erased that night, and a row with no name stays in the records. The backups keep a copy for a few weeks, then it is gone.
