Schools
The group's schools and its head office.
Open the page in SchoolOSWhat it is for
A school is a place of work: it has its stages, classes, staff and school days. The head office is a school of kind “Head office” and has no school days.
Who uses it
The page opens for whoever holds “View schools”, to look only, or “Manage the school: its schools, stages, grades, classes, subjects and calendar”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Team member, Principal. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.
Step by step
- Press “+ Add school”, type its name, kind and gender, then save. The code is optional: it is used in imports, and left empty the system makes one.
- The address, phone, latitude and longitude are optional, and for the website later.
- To add many schools: “Import schools” from an Excel file.
How it works
The code identifies the school (capital letters and digits, up to 12) and is never repeated. The group opens a new school; a principal sees and changes the schools their role's scope covers. Coordinates outside the range are refused, so no school lands in the sea on a map. School days are counted for each new school and when its kind changes. Deleting deactivates: its classes and placements stay, and its days leave the calendar until it is restored.
On the page
- “+ Add school”: the code, name, kind and gender.
- The schools, and how many stages each teaches.
Questions
- Why do I not see all of the group's schools?
- Your role is narrowed to one or more schools; this page shows the schools your role covers.
- How do I delete a record in “Deleted” permanently?
- From the “Deleted” tab: “Delete permanently” on the record, or “Delete all permanently” above the tab after typing the count, which takes every deleted record of the kind in all of {{customer.the}}, whatever the page's filter shows. It takes the “Permanent delete” permission, the owner's, and a fresh code from the authenticator app each time. A record other records still point to stays, and what holds it is named. A person's record has its personal data erased that night, and a row with no name stays in the records. The backups keep a copy for a few weeks, then it is gone.
