A child's page in the family portal
Your child's state today, attendance over the last 30 days, exit permits, the notices sent to you, the excuse request and the status of your requests.
What it is for
Here you see your child as the school knows them, and ask for an excuse for an absence if your account is recorded to receive the school's messages about them. The arrow at the top of the page takes you back to the home.
Step by step
- At the top are your child's name, school and class, and under them a strip with their state today.
- “Attendance over the last 30 days” is a bar of the days present, late, absent, excused and on an activity, and the dates of absence and lateness with the minutes late. Under it, “Weekly attendance rate” is a line over the last four weeks, drawn once two weeks have attendance marked.
- Then their attendance over the school year, and “Exit permits over the last 30 days”: its day, its time and who collected your child.
- “Warning letters” shows when the school issues the letters and your child has one it approved: its kind (first or final), the day it was approved, and the days absent, their dates and the warning's limit as the letter states them. It is read only and cannot be answered from the portal; if the school needs a reply from you, it contacts you.
- “Notices sent to you over the last 30 days” lists what the school sent to your account about your child: its kind, its day and whether it was sent and delivered.
- Under “Ask for an excuse” press “Send an excuse”: choose the first day and the last (empty for one day), the reason and, if you like, a note, then “Send the request”. Below it, “Your requests” shows the status of each.
- At the foot are your child's years, then their details: their number, date of birth, school and class, and the school's phone and address if recorded.
How it works
The page is read with your own account: your linked child only, and a child not linked to you, or whose link was revoked, is answered as not found. Attendance is shown as numbers and dates only: no staff name, no note and no absence reason. Exit permits are the guardian's alone: the pupil's own account does not see them. The excuse request shows when your child is actively enrolled and you are recorded to receive the school's messages about them, and the page states the period a request may cover (from 30 days back to 14 days ahead); a new request that covers a day of one not yet decided is refused, and each account has a cap on requests in 24 hours. Choosing “Sick” tells the school a health reason, seen only by those the school has given the right to see it. The school decides the request and you find its status: awaiting a decision, accepted, rejected or withdrawn, and for a rejected one the reason the school chose.
On the page
- Your child's state today in plain words.
- Their attendance over the last 30 days: a bar of the counts and the dates of absence and lateness, with no staff name or reason.
- The warning letters the school has approved for your child, read only.
- What the school sent to your account about your child: the kind of notice, its day and its state.
- Ask for an excuse for an absence and follow the status of your requests here.
- Your child as the school knows them: their number, school, grade and class.
Questions
- I do not find the excuse button?
- The page says why: either your child is not actively enrolled now, or your account is not recorded to receive the school's messages about them, or excuse requests are switched off and it says “Excuse requests are not available now”. Contact the school.
- I do not see the exit permits?
- They show to the guardian only, not in the pupil's own account.
- I do not see “Warning letters”?
- The section shows only once the school has approved a letter for your child, and while the school issues the letters; a letter the school has not approved yet, or has cancelled, is not shown to you.
- I do not see the attendance rate line?
- It is drawn once your child has attendance marked in at least two of the last four weeks.
