The group's branding

The logo and the colour, shown in the staff app, and the colour on the public website too.

Open the page in SchoolOS

What it is for

The group's logo is uploaded and the colour chosen here. The logo shows at the head of the sidebar, on the sign-in and set-password screens, and in the header of printed reports. The colour tints the whole staff app and the public website.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View the group's branding”, to look only, or “Manage the group's branding”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.

Step by step

  1. Choose the logo file, then “Save”. To remove it: tick “Remove the current logo”, then “Save”.
  2. Choose the colour with the picker or type its code, then “Save colour”.
  3. To go back to SchoolOS's colours: “Default”, then “Save colour”.

How it works

The logo is PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, up to 300 KB, one for the group; a large picture is shrunk in your browser to 512 px before it is uploaded, so the logo reaches every screen light (an SVG stays as it is, and so does a picture already smaller), and a logo uploaded earlier stays as it is until you replace it; replacing it changes it everywhere, and ticking “Remove the current logo” wins over a chosen file. The colour is in the form #RRGGBB, and it is the same as the “Brand colour” in the site setup, so changing it here changes it there; leaving it empty means SchoolOS's colours. Status colours, published, draft and the rest, stay as they are. The action log records the logo's type and size, or the colour. Only someone holding “Manage the group's branding” changes the branding.
